PROJECT SUMMMARY
An advanced product configurator developed in Excel to assist our sales and rig team in configuring rig builds for our customers.
The project has been divided into two phases:
The first phase has been completed and forms the foundation of the project with multiple user roles.
The second phase is currently in progress, specifically in the testing stage. The upcoming steps will involve adding the remaining functionalities for the product configurator aspect of the product and handling equipment packages.
SIMPLE BEGINNINGS
Started from just an idea and a scrap of paper the project has evolved into a fully operational Excel application.

CUSTOMER INFO
Begin your rig building journey by completing the fields in the Customer Info sheet. Here, you’ll store any information related to our customers, rig team, and sales team. This information automatically fills in the quote.
INTERFACE
Building a rig can be complex, but the “Rig Builder” simplifies the process! Unsure about which generator or compressor you need to power your customer’s equipment, or what kind of machine or hoses are required? The Rig Builder’s interface provides the answers. Each selection made in this step-by-step process determines the next, ensuring customers get everything they need and can rest assured that all parts and products are compatible.
COST OF GOODS
It not only helps our customers but also aids IDI’s employees! Once the interface is complete, a Cost of Goods is automatically generated based on user selections, which includes all the costs and quantiles of materials needed to build that specific rig. All the way down to the studs, literally!
QUOTE
The Rig Builder will also generate a quote based on the interface, which can be easily saved as a PDF with the click of a button and sent to our customers.
SAP
Easily create a quote in SAP using the SAP sheet. You’ll find a table containing all the necessary SAP numbers and costs calculated with a predetermined margin.
